Our History

The Asaba Literacy & Reading Club (ALRC) began in July 2018, founded by Mr. Maxwell Ajufo, who led the club from its inception to 2022.

Originally named Asaba Reading Club, we were first registered under the Delta State Ministry of Youth as Asaba Reading Club. The club expanded rapidly due to increasing community engagement and impact.

In July 2025, we achieved full national recognition under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as:

Asaba Literacy and Reading Club (ALRC)

This milestone reflects our evolution into a larger, structured, and national-impact movement.

Today, ALRC continues to grow — powered by volunteers, partners, and passionate readers committed to shaping a literate future.
